# Overview

> Useful extensions to the Model Context Protocol C# SDK that make it easier to build generic MCP servers.

McpEssentials is CloudNimble's companion to the official [MCP C# SDK](https://csharp.sdk.modelcontextprotocol.io/). It fills the gaps that show up the moment you host a **generic** MCP server for more than one user: per-user task isolation, and a family of stores that persist those tasks in the engine you already run.

The first package is **McpEssentials.Core**. It ships `InMemoryMcpTaskStorePlus`, an `IMcpTaskStorePlus` that records who started a task and refuses `tasks/get`, `tasks/update`, and `tasks/cancel` from anyone else.

The in-memory Streamable HTTP sample is [`samples/CloudNimble.McpEssentials.Samples.Basic`](https://github.com/CloudNimble/McpEssentials/tree/main/samples/CloudNimble.McpEssentials.Samples.Basic). Entity Framework Core, Redis, Cosmos DB, and PostgreSQL each have their own sample in the same folder. See [Authenticated tasks](https://si.easyaf.dev/mcpessentials/guides/authenticated-tasks.md) for run commands.
